Guest post by Carrie Warrick-Smith, Association of Community College Trustees
College Success partner, Association of Community College Trustees shared a brief update on their Kids On Campus initiative that describes the forward momentum of this national project to increase campus support services for college students across the US.
Outreach Ramps Up
We are about halfway to our goal 250 Head Starts and Community Colleges signing up to participate in the first year. Sign-ups – and completion of our initial conversation – have rapidly increased in the past few weeks due to increased outreach and the launch of our www.kidsoncampus.org microsite. This site, which is a standalone web presence and is linked to both ACCT and NHSA’s websites, is a one-stop-shop for anyone interested in joining the project. In addition, it is an easy URL for us all to share with our whole networks. As your foundations plan newsletters and outreach sharing information about projects, we welcome you to share this website as appropriate.
First Centers Open
Our first two centers are opening! This includes: the center at the Springfield Technical Community College campus. Check out more about the event here. And the Head Start center at Howard Community College. This center is the one featured in the Raising Up documentary. You can read more about the opening here.
